Alaska's top 30 artwork competition for 2012

The Art for Alaska’s Parks competition is designed to celebrate the beauty of Alaska by showcasing representational artists while enhancing the public awareness of Alaska’s public accessible recreational areas. Subject matter eligible for this competition must be 2 dimensional, representational art work that depicts the places or things to be found in Alaska’s many Municipal, Borough, State and Federal parks, recreational areas, forests, historical sites, preserves, marine parks, wildlife refuges and critical habitat areas.
New for this year is a new award catagory "Best Alaska State Refuge Choice Award". To find out more about this award, it's criteria for eligibility and the Friends-of-Refuges groups we are partnering with go here - Refuge Category.
Deadline for entry this year is July 31, 2012. The awards ceremony will take place Friday, September 7, 2012 at Stephan Fine Arts Gallery in Anchorage. The Top 30 finalist and winning works will stay on display for viewing until September 21, 2012.
