

| The Art for Alaska Parks Competition is designed to celebrate the beauty of Alaska by showcasing representational artists, enhance the public awareness of all Alaska Parks and contribute to programs earmarked to benefit the Alaska State Parks and recreation areas.
Subject matter eligible for this competition must be 2 dimensional, representational art work that depicts the places or things to be found in Alaska's many State Parks, Marine Parks, Recreation Areas, Historical sites or state managed Preserves, Refuges and Critical Habitat Areas. No federal land areas or National Parks are eligible. |
The deadline for entry has moved up this year and is May 28th, 2008. The Top 30 finalist works will be on display July 1 - 9th at the Lousacc Library in Anchorage for public viewing and voting. This years awards ceremony will take place on Friday, July 11, 2008. The award winning works and other Top 30 works will then be exhibited at Stephan Fine Arts Gallery July 11-25th, 2008.
